As someone who has spent over three decades learning and co-creating alongside students, educators, and organizations, Asali Waters understands that meaningful change begins with internal alignment. She is a dynamic leader, coach, and consultant supporting individuals and organizations to navigate complexity, close the gap between intention and practice, and lead with clarity, courage, and care.

Asali guides organizational learning and systems change through transmutational leadership development that's grounded in the belief in everyone's creative agency. She has designed and led national fellowships, supported diverse cross-functional teams, and partnered with organizations to build strategies that align vision, values, and action. Through coaching, facilitation, and program design, she helps people take leadership to collectively move from aspiration to embodied practice.

At the core of Asali’s approach is a commitment to creating conditions where leaders experience connection, wholeness, and belonging. Through an intentional focus on healing, reflection, and adult learning, she cultivates deep leadership practice in complex environments, and a lasting transformation of both human and systemic - internal and external - dimensions of change.

Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Asali comes from a lineage shaped by resilience, love, and collective care. A lifelong learner, mother, and teacher, Asali carries forward the wisdom of ancestors who cultivated joy and possibility in the face of constraint, grounding her work in grace, liberation, gratitude, and belonging.

Asali holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University, and an Administrative Credential from California State University, East Bay. She is currently completing a doctorate in Learning, Leadership, and Organizational Development, where she continues to explore liberating approaches to leadership and organizational change.
